Deepika looks postpone Rajani ‘Rana’

deepika-imageKollywood is agog with rumours that the launching of the superstar’s Rajanikanth’s multilingual historical movie ‘Rana’ was postponed  not because of  the incompletion of the special set by the art director but because of the incompatible looks of the Bollywood baby Deepika Padukone to suit her character.

When the Muhurt scenes of the movie were about to be shot at the AVM Studios on Wednesday morning, Rajanikanth took a look at the baby Deepika Padukone, called the director KS Ravikumar aside and told him that her looks would not suit and serve the purpose of the scene.

“What I expected from her is a simple and traditional look with unmatched glamour but she is not that,” the super star told the director in no uncertain terms. Even as the director turned dumb-faced at the comment, an unhappy Rajani quickly ordered the unit to pack up in disgust, according to the story doing the rounds.

There were reports on Wednesday that the launching of the movie was postponed by a week as a special 17th century set was not completed in time by the art director.

Rajani is playing three roles of three generations and Deepika Padukone was roped in to play the female lead against the young Rajani. But she had disappointed the top hero on the day one itself resulting in the postponement of the launching. The historical movie is jointly produced by Soundarya Rajanikanth and Eros International.
