Super talented director Sekhar Kammula is one of the finest directors Telugu cinema has. After some impressive films like Anand, Godavari, Happy Days and Leader, the director failed to repeat the magic with Life Is Beautiful and Anamika. He took a long break and penned an interesting romantic entertainer which is related to a Telangana girl and an NRI guy. It took so much time for Sekhar Kammula to impress with his story and it was popular producer Dil Raju who loved the script. He signed the film and brought Sekhar Kammula on board.

Then it was Varuntej and Sai Pallavi who have been finalized to play the lead roles in the movie. The movie has been shot in Banswada and USA completely. Made on a budget of Rs 14 crores, the movie carried massive expectations. Shakthi Kanth composed the music and the theatrical trailer has been a massive hit. Fidaa opened to packed houses all over and it has been declared as a blockbuster all over. The movie raked Rs 33.80 crores in two weeks across the globe which has been huge.

Fidaa has been unstoppable across the multiplexes and in overseas even in the second week. The movie has been running with decent occupancy even in its third week in USA and it is expected to collect 2 million USD in USA in its final run. Sri Venkateswara Creations bankrolled the movie. Varuntej has been extremely happy as he scored his first commercial entertainer. Sai Pallavi has been widely applauded for her performance in the movie.
