Telugu heartthrob Allu Sirish, has entered into the Malayalam industry, as his debut, with Malayali actor, Mohanlal, in 1971:Beyond Borders (1971:Bharatha Sarihaddu in Telugu).
Originally made in Malayalam language, the film will also have dubbed versions in Telugu and Tamil.
The actor will be seen playing an important role, as a 24-year old tank commander in the movie, for which he prepared in a great way.
Apparently, this was something, Allu Sirish was keen on from long. The actor said, “I have watched a lot of Malayali films and have always wanted to work here. I met director, Major Ravi sir, by chance. Maybe, this film was meant to happen.”
“We got into a casual conversation and then, he mentioned the film and asked if I would like to play this role. I said, “why not?” I went to Kochi, heard the script, signed the film, and in three weeks, began shooting,” said the actor.
The actor said, “We went to Suratgarh Army Base Camp, where I trained for 25 days to become Lt Chinmay. I learnt how to drive a tank on the training ground and spent time with the jawans; it was a huge learning experience. I understood quite a bit about their lives and the army’s functioning.”
Speaking about Mohanlal, his co-star in the film, Sirish shares, “Working with such a legend, is like joining an acting master class! Seeing him work was a class in itself. Off screen, he is very jovial, but on location, he is very strict. He is clear about what he wants.”
“And the working style of Ravi sir, is quite different from the directors I have worked with so far, said Allu Sirish.
The flick is considered to be a milestone in the career of the veteran actor.
