Actress cries foul over 100 years Cinema fest

The event of celebrations of the 100 years cinema at Chennai conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government jointly with the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce is going to conclude today.

The celebrations were inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jaya Lalitha on Saturday.  Today being the last of the celebrations, The President of India Pranab Mukherjee will be the Chief Guest of honor for the event.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minsiter Jaya Lalitha, Chief Minister of Kerala Oman Chandi and Governor of Tamil Nadu Roshaiah will attend the festival.

Seven artists from each of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies are selected who will be honored on the occasion by the President.

However, one actress who shed tears over the celebrations is Kavitha, who sadly expressed that despite a 35 years presence in the industry, she had not received an invitation for the 100 Years of Indian Cinema celebrations. " I entered the Industry as a child artiste, worked with top actor such as NTR, MGR and Shivaji Ganesan and acted in 130 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam," Kavitha commented. "Smaller actresses were invited, but several senior actors like me have been ignored," she cried.
