Viswaroopam in Tamil Nadu, decision on Monday

The Magnum opus, Viswaroopam, from Dr Kamal Haasan has won critical acclaim from the world but has been castigated in its own homeland. The decision on the subjudice affair over the film's screening in Tamil Nadu will see light on Monday (January 28). A team of experts viewed the film on Saturday to judge the film's caliber owing to a petition filed by a Muslim  association that the film would disturb the serenity of the society and might give raise to communal disturbances. The association had stated that its showed the community in poor light. Would it be totally banned or  needs to go under the scissors, fit for general viewing, will depend on the opinion of the judicial team.

However the film has won the audience hearts where ever it was released. The multitasking Kamal was universally acclaimed for having excelled technically  against his Hollywood contemporaries. The film's success is sure to pave way for a more advanced cinema on home grounds. We need no more to go on witch hunting on Hollywood films as Viswaroopam is ready to teach something new even to the most tech savvy Woods.

On the whole Kamal's Viswaroopam has reaped rich dividends at the box office in other states and worldwide as well. Monday will decide to what extent the plot could be fit for general viewing in the state. Even in Hyderabad after an initial rekluctance the film was allowed to be screened after a day's delay. The spy thriller is an outright action entertainer is sure to keep the movie goers on the cliff hangers in many nail biting sequences. Even the most acclaimed critic needs to bow before this master actor.
