Upcoming actress Shubha Phutela passed away last evening due to multiple complications. She was 21 years old. Shubha Phutela, although not a familiar face to Telugu audience, she's much known figure in Tamil Nadu as her Maalai Pozhuddin Mayakathiley received critical acclaim. It was after this film that Bommarillu Bhaskar approached her to cast in Ongole Gitta opposite Ram.

After a couple of days of shooting, she fell sick at Guntur mirchi yard. She was soon rushed to hospital and since then her health was not quite okay. She was replaced by Kirti Karbhanda in Ram's Ongole Gitta movie. In 2010, Shubha bagged Miss South India title.
