Madhur Bhandarkar hails Aamir for Satyamev Jayate

Versatile film maker Madhur Bhandarkar-who chose film medium for holding mirror up to the society-has said that said that Television would no longer be called as an idiot box. The 43-year-old actor has tweeted this after he watched Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate. “Now television will no longer be called an idiot box, the vision of television broadens with ‘Satyamev Jayate’,” this was his tweet.

After many award winning films, Madhur Bhandarkar is now working on a project Heroine casting Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. Madhur Bhandarkar shot into limelight a decade ago with his film Page 3 that highlighted the lives of page 3 personalities and challenges in journalism. His later flick Fashion threw light on the compromises being made by an average girl to become a show stopper in the fashion industry. Therefore, speculations are high that the current film Heroine would focus on the casting couch in the film industry.

It’s good that Madhur Bhandarkar focus turned toward’s the first episode of Satyamev Jayate that highlighted the female infanticide. We never know, this episode of Aamir’s whether inspired others or not would have apparently inspired Madhur who might come up with a movie on a similar subject. (Phani)
