Now, this has been requested by none other than the Producers Council in Film Chambers, yesterday. The President of Producers Council, C. Kalyan requested the concerned authorities top remove the service tax on the films, due to which the release and the making of the film is affecting on a Major extent. ‘we are in such a position today, where we can neither producer nor dub the films at a larger extent. The people who are at a stake because of the huge amount of service tax on films are the producers. The film maker who is planning for a small or medium budget film is almost at a loss, these days. Moreover, all the print, electronic, television, radio and film media are exempted from the tax bracket. In this regard, we urge the concerned authorities to please take our request into consideration,’ said Kalyan.

Well, this is not the first time the film makers have come up with this kind of a request. Hope things would work positive at least this time…
