Actor Nutan Prasad is no more

NuthanPrasadAndhrawishesh.com reports with a heavy heart that well known movie artiste Nutan Prasad, 61, whose original name is Vara Prasad, died of cardiac arrest this morning in Hyderabad. Nutan Prasad was discharged from the Apollo Hospital two days ago after he underwent treatment for sickness.

Family members took him to the hospital today again after he complained of chest pain but he breathed his last at 7.30 AM on his way to hospital. Doctors declared him brought dead to the hospital.

Born on October 10, 1950 at Kaikaluru in Krishna district, Nutan Prasad made a flamboyant entry into the Telugu cinema industry through the hit movie ‘Andala Ramudu’ and donned important roles as a comedian, villain, hero and character artist in several movies after that. He became more popular as comedian-villain.

He won the best supporting actor award in 1984 for his role in the movie ‘Sundari-Subba Rao’ and won the NTR National Award in 2005. He was confined to his wheel chair since 1989 after he broke his legs during the shooting of the popular movie ‘Bamma Mata Bangaaru Baata’ but continued to act occasionally in roles that suited his handicapped body.

Mutyala Muggu, Rajadhi Raja, Khaidi, Kadhanayakudu, Ahana Pellanta, Srivariki Prema lekha, Kartavyam, President Peraiah and Tataiah Prema Leelalu are some of the hit movies that made him highly popular in Tollywood. He continued to lend his voice to many a TV serial and also anchored some popular TV shows during his confinement to the wheel chair.
