Telangana activists today destroyed and set fire to a cinema setting at Aluru in Chevella Mandalam of Ranga reddy district where shooting was in progress for a movie featuring Allari Naresh and Purna in lead roles.
When the shooting was in progress for a song and dance sequence, Telangana activists raided the place and destroyed the setting worth Rs.10 lakh. Allari Naresh and heroine Purna were there when the T elements resorted to this arson.
The entire unit left the place after the incident. Producer Vijaya Prasad and director Nageswara reddy told media persons later that the shooting for the movie was actually to take place for four days from February 21 but was postponed at the instance of the T leaders.
“We waited for the shooting at the instance of some leaders but now some activists came and destroyed the set worth Rs.10 lakh,” they lamented.
