
Andhrawishesh.com deeply regrets to inform its visitors that veteran cine writer Mullapudi Venkataramana, 80, who worked on scripts for famous director Bapu-directed hit movies, passed away last night at his house in Chennai. He has been bed-ridden for some days and breathed his last Wednesday night.
Venkataramana, whose original name is Venkatarao, started his film career with ‘Dagudumutalu’ and created scripts for all time hits like Sakshi, Raktasambhandam, Mugamanasulu, buddhimantudu, Andala Ramudu,Mutyalamuggu, Pelli Pustakam, Mr Pellam, Radhagopalam and several other movies.
Mullapudi, who was born in Dhavaleswaram near Rajahmundry on June 28, 1931, began his career as a journalist and writer and then moved to film industry. Books written by him included ‘Budugu’, ‘Kotikommachchi’ and ‘Runanandalahari’ which became instant hits among readers.
For the last few days, he was busy working on script for the movie ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ being directed by his life-time friend Bapu. This movie features hero Balakrishna as Lord Rama.
