Andy Flower steps down as England coach

The England Cricket Board (ECB) has decided to end the tenure of England coach Andy Flower who has been in the post for the past five years. Following the disastrous Ashes series in which England lost 0-5, Andy Flower was made the scapegoat. Andy in statement said that, “I'm not in position to take up the challenge of rebuilding the England team and so I have decided to step down from the coach position.”

ECB has approved Andy Flower's decision and is in hunt for a new coach. ECB will retain Flower as selector and feels his contribution was enormous to the team. In 2009 Andy Flower took charge of England coach and under his guidance, England rose to number one in Test rankings in the year 2011 and won T20 World Cup in West Indies.
