Former cricketer Madhusudan Rege died

Madhusudan Rege, the former cricketer died at the age of 89. Rege had reportedly played in one Test Match for India. The former cricketer played as an opener in the only Test Match he played in Madras between India and West Indies in 1949.

Rege had scored 2348 runs with an average of 37.26. He had hit six centuries and 12 fifties in his career. In total he appeared in 39 first-class games, out of which 22 were played for Maharashtra, from 1944 to 1955. Rege was an offspin bowler who took 33 wickets giving an average of 42.96 runs. His best bowling recorded taking 5 wickets and giving 23 runs. The BCCI paid tribute to the Ranji Trophy player of Maharashtra while condoling his death.
