Saina to face China in the Semis at Malaysian opens shuttle

Indian ace shuttler keeps dreams alive by picking her first Super Series title this year when she got the better of two-time All England champion Tine Baun.

The Malaysian open Super series saw the Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, on Friday storm in to her first semi final. Saina beats two-time All England champion Tine Baun of Denmark 21-13, 21-23, 21-13. With this victory the Indian is to face, most likely, Chinese World Champion Wang Yihan on Saturday in the BWF Malaysian Super Series badminton championship in Kuala Lumpur.

The world number four Indian had to toil hard before prevailing over Tine Baun, in a women singles quarterfinal match which lasted a little less than an hour. Unlike in the recent past, Saina was in no mood to relax and sustained the pressure with a high quality net game to get the better of her opponent. The World No. 5 from India was at her best in the game.

In Saturday’s encounter Saina is confident to cruise ahead. Though the Chinese enjoy an upperhand against Saina, it's a fact that the Indian is the only player in the world who had registered most number of victories against them recently. The nest match is quite crucial for Saina to break the myth that she is defenseless against the Chinese. In the semifinals on Saturday, Saina will take on the winner between top seed and world number one Chinese Yihan Wang and Xuerui Li.
