Saina regains third spot in rankings

Saina21-year-old ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal of Hyderabad regained her number three spot in the latest world rankings. The latest rakings were released in Delhi this morning.

After winning the Swiss Open title last week, she stood third with 69721.2637 points after Shixian Wang and Yihan Wang, both from China, who retained the first and second spots with 83506.4 and 73988.9106 points respectively.

Saina slipped back in the rankings this year after her exit from the Korean Open and the All England Championships. Earlier she missed two tournaments because of nagging ligament injury.

Swiss Open title was her third Grand Prix Gold title after she won the Chinese Taipei in 2008 and the Indian Open in 2010. In the last two years, the Hyderabad girl also won four Super Series finals in Indonesia (twice), Singapore and Hong Kong.
