Batting prowess Vs Bowling fire power

image1Hours ahead of the World Cup group B match between India and South Africa to begin at Nagpur, cricket fans have described the match as a battle royal between the former’s batting prowess and latter’s bowling fire power.

After wining the toss, India elected to bat first with a view to achieve a higher score to ensure that South Africa would not be able to chase it.

While the South Africans are very much relaxed despite losing their league match against England, India need to win the match to gain an upper hand psychologically over other teams participating in the tournament. In fact, the challenge from the South Africans is the biggest one being faced by the Indians till now in the group.

Batting talents of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuva Raj Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli would be on display against those of the Jacques Kallis, Graeme Smith, Hasim Amla and Dale Steyn.

The only worry that is causing fear among Indians is the constant dependence of captain Cool of India Mr MS Dhoni on under performer Piyush Chawla whose leg spin is not yielding the expected results. It is to be seen whether Dhoni’s usual dependence on two pacers and two spinners will yield the results on a flat pitch at Nagpur.

Bangladesh defeats England

In another Group B encounter on Friday, Bangladesh defeated England in a dramatic fashion at Chittagong.  Bangladesh showed more batting fire power through its tail-enders and pulled off a dramatic two-wicket win over England.
