Google's open playground: 3 new gadgets

For those who have been waiting for the big event from Google, there is a lot more that you can be excited for. On Monday, Google unveiled the 2 completely new gadgets as it revamped an earlier tablet. The highly awaited smartphone from Google and LG is now official. The announcement came only 30 min prior to the launch of the Microsoft's smartphone Nokia Lumia 920 based on Windows 8.

All the devices from Google were under the Nexus brand, the purest form of Android any user can experience. The Android was also revamped to a newer version which is still being called the Jelly Bean, Android 4.2, and not Google Lime Pie. The 10” Google Nexus 10, a revamped model of the Google Nexus 7 were launched along with the smartphone.

The Galaxy Nexus from Samsung feels outdated with the entry of the LG Nexus 4 which is powered by a Snapdragon S4 pro quad core processor while the graphic details being rendered by a Adreno 320 chip. The CPU which runs at 1.5 GHz packs enough power to suit all your needs. The 4.7 inch screen with IPS has a resolution of 1280x768 pixels. Dual cameras of 8MP and 1.3 MP for primary and secondary respectively are present on the phone which has a patterned back case. 2GB RAM takes multitaksing to a whole new level. The only draw back is that the phone is available in 8GB and 16 GB models only with no slot for microSD cards.

The glass patterned back case makes it susceptible to damage too. Google has decided to eschew the LTE or 4G compatibility options for the phone keeping it a step behind other phones in terms of connectivity.

For a flagship Android phone, Nexus 4 has been priced very aggressively. The 8GB model will cost $299 while the 16GB model will have a price of $349.
