The only player in the world cricket to hit double centuries twice, Rohit Sharma, who is maintaining poor form in World Cup event got support from team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Apart from Rohit, all other top order batsmen have showed their caliber in or other match. The opener has been facing severe criticism by formers and cricket lovers.
In spite of Rohit’s unimpressive performance in all matches except with UAE (57 not out) and Ireland (64), Dhoni has been feeling Rohit has batted really well so far and at the same time he’s playing the shots really well.
“It’s not always about the runs. We have seen batsmen who are playing really well but they have not scored runs (in matches), and all of a sudden you see a game where they score really big and they come back. So it’s not really being out of form. What’s important is to spend time in the middle, and I think Rohit has done enough of that,” Captain Cool said.
Dhoni also defended the spin specialists Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja who were beaten high by the Zimbabwean batsmen.
Indian cricket fans are expecting high from Rohit Sharma in the next match with Bangladesh on 19th, If India beats the minnow will have to get ready to face powerful team in semi finals.
