NIA Arrests 9 Al-Qaeda Terrorists from West Bengal and Kerala:- The National Investigative Agency (NIA) conducted multiple raids across the country and arrested nine Al-Qaeda terrorists from multiple locations in West Bengal and Kerala. The officials of NIA busted out the modules of Al-Qaeda in West Bengal's Murshidabad and Ernakulam in Kerala. Nine terrorists from these two states are taken into custody and three of them are from Ernakulam while the other six are from Murshidabad. All the accused are working as laborers and they are in their earlt twenties. Murshid Hasan, Iyakub Biswas and Mosaraf Hossen are from Kerala. Najmus Sakib, Abu Sufiyan, Mainul Mondal, Leu Yean Ahmed, Al Mamun Kamal and Atitur Rehman are residents of West Bengal's Murshidabad. All these terrorists are in plans to go to Jammu and Kashmir for the delivery of weapons. The primary investigation confirmed that all these have links with Al-Qaeda and they are motivated to conduct attacks in multiple locations of the country including New Delhi. NIA officials said these terrorists have been actively mobilizing funds and some of them are in plans to travel to New Delhi to procure arms. The agency received inputs after which they are kept under surveillance. All these terrorists are in plans to take attacks on innocent Indian people. The NIA officials seized documents, digital devices, the literature of jihadi, weapons, firearms, body armour, literature and articles along with home-made explosives. They will be produced before special NIA courts in West Bengal and Kerala after which they would be investigated further.

USA Bans WeChat and TikTok from Sunday:- The United States of America made it clear today that the Chinese apps WeChat and TikTok are banned from Sunday saying that they threaten national security. WeChat is a payment platform while TikTok is a video app. The decision has been taken amid rising tensions between USA and China. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told in a statement that "The Chinese Communist Party has demonstrated the means and motives to use these apps to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and the economy of the US". WeChat is used among Chinese speakers mostly and TikTok is widely used by Americans across USA. WeChat will be shut down from Sunday in USA. TikTok will continue operating till November 12th and it would face a full ban post 12th of November in USA. The order may be lifted if the security concerns are resolved before November 12th. TikTok is widely popular among youngsters and the quirky videos gained immense popularity. Donald Trump during his several recent speeches announced about the Chinese apps posing a threat for the national security and they would go ahead and ban them. The Indian government banned over 200 Chinese apps in the recent months including PUBG and TikTok. WeChat owned by China's Tencent has the potential to disrupt the social media and financial applications.

Delhi Schools to Remain Closed for all Students till October 5th:- The Delhi government has been trying hard to bring the spread of coronavirus to control. The government announced that all the schools in the national capital will remain closed till October 5th considering the coronavirus pandemic. "All government and private schools will remain closed for all students till October 5. However, online teaching and learning activities will continue as usual" announced the order by the Directorate of Education (DoE). The order also said that the school principals can call the staff members for the smooth functioning of online classes. All the schools, colleges and universities of the country are closed since March 16th ever since the coronavirus pandemic broke out. The Centre granted permission for online classes and asked the parents to take special care of their children. The Centre announced national lockdown since March 25th. Even the examinations of engineering, degree and other professional courses are either held online or the students got promoted based on the internal examinations held in the year. The Centre issued latest guidelines that the students from 9th to 12th classes are allowed to attend the schools on a voluntary basis. The Delhi government now pushed the classes to October 5th.

AP Government Slaps Cess on Petrol and Diesel:- The Andhra Pradesh government is in a huge financial crunch and the coronavirus pandemic doubled the financial problems of the state. The government of Andhra Pradesh decided to levy road cess on petrol and diesel which will add extra burden on the people of the state. The state cabinet took this call during a recent cabinet meeting and the proposal to levy Rs 1 per litre on petrol and diesel has been approved. The AP government will come up with an ordinance for the same in the next couple of days. The additional burden on the people of Andhra Pradesh would be Rs 600 crores per annum with the latest decision. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy instructed the officials to take up the repair works of the roads across the state by using these funds. The roads in Andhra Pradesh are badly damaged due to the recent rains in the state. YS Jagan said that the people would not spare the delay in the road repairs and he instructed the officials to go ahead with the process. It is the officials who suggested this to the government to levy the cess on petrol and diesel to raise the funds to repair the roads. The AP Road Development Corporation borrowed Rs 3000 crores early this year but the funds were diverted for Pasupu Kumkuma scheme.

Nithiin to Resume the Shoot of Rang De:- Young actor Nithiin returned back with a bang with his recent offering Bheeshma. The movie happens to be the last super hit film of Telugu cinema before the coronavirus pandemic attack. The actor was shooting for his next project Rang De before the coronavirus pandemic which was planned for July release. Venky Atluri is the director and Keerthy Suresh is the leading lady. As it is not favorable to shoot, Nithiin was left in waiting mode. He got married to Shalini and is spending quality time with his family members in this pandemic break. Nithiin is now all set to return back to work. The shoot of Rang De resumes from September 23rd and the next schedule will take place in Hyderabad for two weeks. Soon after this, Nithiin along with the team of Rang De will fly to Europe for the last schedule. The film is announced for Sankranthi 2021 release but with the makers receiving various digital deals, the final call would be taken as per the situations after the shoot of Rang De gets completed. The total tests conducted in Andhra Pradesh are said to be 74,710 and the total number of cases of coronavirus in the state are said to be 6,06,663. Paytm App Removed From Google Play Store:- Paytm app has been removed from the Google Play store because of the addition of the fantasy cricket tournament that was added which is against the policies of Google Play. However, the Paytm app will be available on iOS platforms through the Apple App Store. Google Play also pulled out the Paytm First Games app that includes the fantasy cricket with real money betting. The Google Play listing of the Paytm app is showing an error that reads, "We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server". The Android users are now not able to download the Paytm app from the Google Play. All the users who already installed the Paytm app on their Android mobile phones will be able to use the mobile wallet and other services that the Paytm offers. Paytm posted a tweet that the application would be restored very soon. Apart from Paytm, the Paytm First Games will not be available on Google Play. Google recently posted its gambling policy and they do not promote sports betting. With Paytm promoting fantasy cricket, Google Play decided to remove Paytm app from their list. “We don't allow online casinos or support any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting. This includes if an app leads consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies,” wrote Google in its blog.

Indian Railways to Levy User Charges to Redevelop the Stations:- Indian Railways which suffered massive losses because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been running selected trains across the major routes. Indian Railways is all set to introduce user charges in around 1050 stations across the country to generate revenue and also provide better facilities for the passengers during this coronavirus pandemic season. The redevelopment of the railway stations is considered under a public and private partnership but the Indian Railways decided to levy user charges on the passengers. NITI Aayog chief executive officer Amitabh Kant said that their target is to offer 50 stations for redevelopment by the end of 2021. The user charges would be affordable and the response has been overwhelming said Amitabh Kant during a virtual press conference. The user charges applicable would be between 10 and 15 percent. They are a token amount that will be used to improve the facilities for the passengers in the railway stations across the country. If there is a need to levy user charges, it will go to Indian Railways. The value of the benefits will depend on the user charges collected in the respective railway station as per the update. Along with the revenue generation, the user charges will regulate the non-passenger traffic in the railway stations and will reduce the unnecessary traffic.

India reported 96,424 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours and the total tally of cases reached 52,14,677. The total number of deaths in the country are at 84,372. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are the states which reported a huge number of cases in the country. The recovery rate in the country now stands at 78.9 percent. The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 3 crores and 9.4 lakh people died across the globe because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 6,15,72,343 samples were tested for coronavirus in India till September 17th. A total number of 10,06,615 samples are tested yesterday in the country. 1174 people died in India yesterday as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. 60% of the cases reported in India are from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh. The total tally of coronavirus cases in Telangana are said to be 1.67 lakhs and Andhra Pradesh crossed over 5.5 lakh cases in the state. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slams the Centre and Narendra Modi along with the Union Health Ministry for neglecting the healthcare officials and doctors who are tested positive with coronavirus.
