As the attempts of demolitions of unauthorized constructions took a violent turn the Supreme Court has given orders to stay demolitions till 31st may 2014. In the drive of Brihan Municipal Corporation to demolish unauthorized constructions in the compound of Campa Cola in which 90 families are residing.  Getting a place to stay in Mumbai is not an easy task.

The time given by Supreme Court previously ended by Monday.  But, the authorities promptly went to the location in question to demolish the buildings could not enter the compound of Campa Cola in spite of their attempts from Monday.  They have taken help from police today to demolish the constructions.  They broke the main gate and tried to enter the compound attempt of which was resisted by the residents.  The scene became violent when police resorted to lathi charge.

While extending the time for the residents to stay in the buildings till 31st May 2014, Supreme Court expressed its view that the residents may need some more time to make alternative arrangements for dwelling.
