Japan's automaker Honda has registered a record domestic sales in March 2014 and this is their highest ever sales in the country. The sales graph rose by 83.4 percent and sold 18,426 units as compared to 10,044 units the same time last year.

With the launch of diesel versions of Honda City and Amaze, Honda has been gaining more sales opined the trade analysts. German automaker Mercedes also reported positive sales by 27 per cent. The luxury car maker sold 2,554 units of its premium models in the first quarter of 2014.

However, the leading manufacturers in the country, Maruthi and Hyundai sales have dipped marginally. Hyundai reported a 8.37 percent decline while Maruti had 5.5 percent dip.
