Kids with business minds

The world has become a large enterprise and the biggest challenge for the kids is that they have to keep up with the pace of the expanding world. Students of Mallya Aditi International School have been learning the same right in their schooling.

The Grade 12 A students have all formed an entrepreneurship club at the school under the guidance of teachers and have started learning and applying strategies of entrepreneurship in the school while they make and even sell products that are genuinely new, not only in the school but also outside the school.

It all started with the Cambridge International Exam's Young Enterprise Program six years ago and it has now molded into the entrepreneurship club of the school. The organization is set up like an enterprise with fully functional administration officials like any corporate office. The whole class forms the small venture with real capital, and innovative thoughts to make and sell products. The students enjoyed being a part of the project very much and hence it was continued year after year.

School memorabilia, one-cup coffee bags, sparrow boxes and snacky crackers to websites and tree kits are among the few products they sell from their basket. There is also a real audit, two round of it in fact. One done by the economics teacher Sateja Joshi while the finance department of the school performs the final round. Profits are shared and donated for charity. The can take the help from teachers at the school but the services are not free.

Clearances for products that should be sold outside the schools should be obtained by the students too. With such skills in children being nurtured at a very small age, we can expect a few Tatas, Mallyas and Birlas from this school in less than 10 years.
