Apple tops the list of "Most Innovative Company"

In a study Titled 'The Global Innovation 1000: Making Ideas Work'  conducted by consultancy giant Booz & Co, Apple comes as a clear winner in terms of being the most innovative company . The reports also shows that is possibly no co-relation between the R&d spendings of a company and creating original ideas .

The study revealed that Toyota is no 1 in terms of the money it spends on research and development with a total of USD 9.9 billion but stays far behind  in creating more profitable business practice Apple who spends just about USD 2.2 billion. In all, Global Innovation 1000 companies spent $603 billion on R&D last year, 9.6 per cent more than in 2010. Their revenues totalled $17.6 trillion.

In terms of industry segments, computing and electronics accounted for 28 per cent of the total R&D spend. Another dominant segment is pharmaceutical , with two of it's leading company Novartis and Pfizer making it to top ten. It shows Samsung, Sony, HP and Texas Instruments continued to pour money into developing better products. The index was created by comparing the ratio of the expenditure in R&D and sales revenue.
