'Pounds worthy' London Olympics 2012

The mammoth extravaganza of sports is just about to commence in a short while from now. But the lucrative point of the London Olympics 2012 ios sure to have a tremendous impact on the British economy. Apart from the main stream avenues like the ticket sales and broad casting rights there are sure to be unknown gains in many sectors which are sure to fuel the progressive wheel. Many small scale entrepreneurs like cab drivers, small retail outlets, food joints, parlors and more would benefit from the floating public across the streets of London the next 17 days.

London Olympics 2012, officially known as The Games of the XXX Olympiad will have  10,500 or more athletes from 205 countries participating in more than 302 events. And  nearly 9 million are going to watch live. So just imagine the extensive leg work the global metropolis will have and what an impact it would have on the economy, even if each spends just 2 pounds a day. London Olympics 2012 would make a profit for the British economy of around four billion pounds, say experts. Television revenue from around the world should top $4 billion.

Anticipating the  huge revenue generations many top global brands have already set up many out lets. The Center for Retail Research estimates that the net impact on retailers of the Olympics will be £561 million. Much of this impact will be felt in London.  Among the major brands making headway to London, are Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel and New York department stores before the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. The most important of course is Victoria secrets  lingerie stores opened in Westfield, London. London Olympics 2012 is sure to be `Pounds worthy' for the economy.
