Amazon partners with Tata Comm

Silicon Valley Giant is to launch Amazon Web Services (AWS) by partnering with the Indian Giant Tata Communications. India is a big market for cloud services.

Amazon is on building a solid base in the country and is on spree of partnerships. The foremost is the giant partnering with Tata Communications for launching its AWS in the country. It is speculated that the Silicon Valley Company has already taken infrastructure from the Tata’s for launching its AWS, even before its competitors even dream about going India. This could be deeper move by the company to serve larger markets while strategically positioned in the country. It is rumored that AWS might be launched sometime next year, once the necessary infrastructure is in place.

Next big question is when Tata is a big time player in the local scenario in cloud computing. It may be noted Tata Communications last year partnered with Cloud.com. I that case this ulterior move of the company must be to keep the competitor at bay with the mighty partnership. Amazon has six data centers in US, Dublin, Singapore and Tokyo. The latest in India will add value in its quiver. But much is awaited from Amazon to draw up congruent conclusions. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
