BMW - 7 series, superb with luxury with technology

BMW has unveiled its next 7 series to compete with its rivals equipped with luxury and technology. The car boasts with a backseat cinema, massaging seats and gesture controls, so that drivers can adjust the radio with a wave of their hand. The top-of-the-range car allow drivers to park the car using a remote control, much like James Bond controlling an old BMW model in the 1997 film, Tomorrow Never Dies.

Harald Kruger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG said, ‘This balance of cutting-edge technology, connectivity and comfort is our vision of modern luxury.' The car has a sleek carbon fibre body that makes it 190 lbs (89kg) lighter, hiding a more efficient V-8 engine generating 445 horsepower. An ‘adaptive mode’ will match driving style and will be focused on comfort on a rough country road.

Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW North America, told, 'Just a simple gesture, moving your hand or just pointing two fingers towards the dash, will mean a certain order to the car.’ ‘It is elegant, it's dynamic, it's futuristic, it has a lot of innovations.’

The "entry-level" 740i features a turbo-charged 3.0-liter straight-six with 315 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. The mid-grade 750i employs a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 445 ponies and 480 lb-ft. The range-topping 760Li boasts a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 that pumps out 535 horsepower and an impressive 550 lb-ft of torque. The big twelve-cylinder can propel the car to 60 mpg from a standstill in just 4.5 seconds.Fuel economy is rated at 19/28 city/highway mpg for all 740i variants (up from 17/25 mpg). The 750i returns 17/25 mpg, while the 750i xDrive, 750Li and 750Li xDrive return 16/24 mpg. The 760Li is good for 13/20 mpg.
