What's in Digvijay's Report on Telangana?

A report was submitted on the issue of the division of the State of AP by the AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh who is given additional responsibilities of acting as in charge of the States of AP and Karnataka.

What is given in that report and whether it favors the division or calls to keep the State united is the question that is making many in the State anxious to know.

Apart from collecting opinions of different leaders in both the regions of Andhra and Telangana, Digvijay Singh also added his own observations and opinion on the issue from political point of view of the party he works for.

It is said that he has not given his opinion in favor of or against formation of a separate Telangana State but the way he reported suggests a decision to be taken by the party in favor of giving Statehood to Telangana region.

Digvijay Singh in his report cited the incidents of Congress party’s senior leaders leaving the party and also possible other leaders’ departure from the party from both the regions.  The report also shows the impact of the departures of the leaders if the decision is taken in favor of or if the decision is taken against the formation of Telangana State.

In addition to the reports from the three leaders of the State CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, Dy.CM Damodara Raja Narasimha and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, those leaders will participate and present their point of view in the meeting with the core committee of the Congress party along with Sonia Gandhi and also Gulam Nabi Azad former in charge of the State.

Out of the three leaders, Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa are in favor of the united State and Damodara Raja Narasimha favors a Telangana State.

Now the entire discussions end with the end political gain as the Congress Party reckons, if the division is made and if it is left united as it is!

The report of Digvijay Singh although do not suggest any decision, it indicates a summarized political gain to the party if the State is divided.
