Congress Disrupts Proceedings In Telangana Assembly:- Despite repeated appeals by Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy and MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, a noisy protest was staged by the Congress members in the State Legislative Assembly in the Well of House on Friday.

With the Congress members persisting with their demand for taking up discussion on farmers’ issues first, the noisy scenes continued through the Question Hour. Despite the ruckus, the House went through the Question Hour. The Deputy Speaker’s appeals to the Opposition members, who were shouting slogans, to return to their seats went in vain.

Since the government was ready to allow discussion on farmer’s issue, the Congress members were requested by Owaisi, to stop their protest.

“It is not fair that a few members are trying to hold the House to ransom. The government should take action and facilitate other members to participate in the Question Hour,” he said.

Meanwhile, the TRS MLCs said as the Congress members were bankrupt of issues to debate in the Council, they had come to the Legislative Council pre-planned to obstruct the House proceedings on the first day. After the adjournment of the House, TRS MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, addressing the media,  said it was a pre-planned move by the Congress members. Moreover, he found fault with the Congress’s behavior in the Council.

During the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, the Congress members had assured of all support for the smooth functioning of the House but had gone back on their words, said TRS Whip B Venkateswarlu. “The Ministers were prepared to give elaborate replies to all the queries raised by Congress members, but they staged a walk out. This shows the Congress party’s commitment towards the people and their welfare,” he said.

The Council Chairman adjourned the council till Monday, after the question hour.
