Slow poison rates increased

Andhra Pradesh Government has hiked the prices of liquor. The new prices would come effective from midnight. The government has increased the liquor prices in seven categories. For alcoholic beverages costing Rs. 350, Rs. 47 would be added to. For beverages between Rs. 350-Rs.400, Rs. 54 would be added. And for drinks between 400-450, an amount of 75 would be charged and similarly drinks between 450-500 an amount of 83, for 500-550 an amount of 91, for 550-600 an amount of 95 and anything above that an amount of  Rs. 100 would be charged extra towards tax.

The observers said that the increase of prices would be great source of income for the government while it would not effect the regular or occasional drinkers. However, they said if an alcoholic refrains himself from consuming this slow poison-at least for a day-only because he falls short of some 30 or 40 rupees, then this move will
