Tirumala wishesh: divinity of the Kartika masam

Tirumala, Kaliyuga Vaikunta, the abode of the Lord Maha Vishnu is thronged by pilgrims from across the state, on account of Kartika month, a month considered to be auspicious for pilgrimage by the Hindus. To have a glimpse of the Lord almost thirty one compartments are filled with devotees in the queue complex.  The approximate time for darshan is expected at twelve hours for the general and four hours for the special darshan at the temple. Today at Tirumala the Karthika Vanabhojana seva is being performed for the Lord. All other Arjitha Sevas are suspended for the day.

In the early hours of the day Kaiseekha Dwadasi was grandly celebrated in the temple, as it is customary in this month.  At dawn in the temple special poojas were performed to the Lord Ugra Srinivas Murthy and his concerts Sridevi and Bhudevi. The whole atmosphere was filled with ecstasy as the music was being played. The temple was filled with devotees chanting Om Namo Naryanaya.

Today’s sloka:
Salutations to Lord Venkateswara whose abode is on Narayanadri.
Salutations to Him who cleanses the sins of His devotees.
Salutations to Him who is the Lord of the three worlds and who destroys demons.
Salutations to Him who loves His devotees and saves them from difficulties.
