Unrest continues on OU camps

ou1In a repeat of the Wednesday’s incidents on the OU campus in Hyderabad, police lobbed tear gas shells to disperse students who violated prohibited orders and took out a rally.

When the rally of students reached the NCC gate on its way to the Gun Park, police stopped them and asked them to go back as section 144 of Cr PC was in force. After a fierce argument with the police, students resorted to stone-pelting on police who replied with lathi-charge and tear gas.

Three students were injured in the lathi charge and police action. Earlier, the students burnt the effigies of the members of the congress core committee. Meanwhile, students all over Telangana conducted rallies and courted arrest today in reply to a call given by the Telangana political JAC.

TGOA chalk out action plan

The Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association today demanded the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in the parliament and warned that it would resort to non-cooperation if the Bill is not introduced immediately.

The Association decided to give a call for indefinite strike to all its employees and officers at a later stage in future if the non-cooperation also fails to ensure the introduction of the Bill in the parliament.
