YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy, who once created sensation and took on several issues, seems to be losing his charm over Congress MP Chiranjeevi. YSR Congress party managed to draw good number of seats in by-polls but will it able to convince people in 2014 is the question by the political observers.
Observers said YSRC party was reportedly jealous of megastar Chiranjeevi because of the huge fan base Chiru had. Also, Jagan camp was apparently determined and confident that Kiran sarkar would be collapsed in the no confidence motion last year but it was Chiranjeevi, who stopped the government from being destabilized. One might cite the recently concluded by-polls and argue that it was public's judgment, but public apparently took that decision in an emotional state and emotional decisions are not always correct, added observers. Although Jaganmohan Reddy managed to attract people in some areas, it was all because of mere sympathy and sympathies would not last longer, they stressed. Whereas, the people who adore and admire Chiranjeevi don't sympathize with Chiru but get inspired by him, said a few observers.
It is no exaggeration to mention that Chiranjeevi is looked upon as the role model in Andhra Pradesh. He came across n number of hurdles, struggled for bread and butter yet chased his dreams and completed degree (which was considered as higher education during those days). His thoughts to become different didn't make him go for a clerical job, but made him approach Chennai. Chiranjeevi's determination was rightly observed by the producers and directors, who initially offered him small roles in the movies and later his talent took him to peaks.
Chiranjeevi became a mega star and managed to win the hearts of crores of people. Perhaps he was the only film star who credited his success to his fans. In fact, Chiru's love for people and people's love for Chiru cannot be divided. And it was the same love and empathy for the people, which made Chiranjeevi think that something should be done for the uplifting the people. This very thought made him plunge into politics, observed the analysts.
On the other hand, Jaganmohan Reddy was born rich. He was the son of the chief minister. So, the political observers felt Jagan apparently didn't know the real problems of the public. They said Jagan allegedly used the influence of his father for his benefits and to make their point they cited CBI's enquiry on Jagan. It may be noted that CBI found Jaganmohan Reddy as the prime accused in illegal assets case and subsequently arrested him and produced before the CBI Court. Jagan is now behind bars at Chanchalguda jail.
Chiranjeevi never blamed the government nor sought any sympathy by bringing his family members into the political scene. May be Congress would have won all 18 seats had Chiru resorted to the same what his rival did. But that's not the style and approach of Chiranjeevi, said political observers who even stressed that today sympathy may win but people still look upon Chiranjeevi as the role model. And when sympathy vanishes, role model will be the one who will rule the hearts of the people. So, the observers opined that Chiranjeevi should not be compared to Jaganmohan Reddy. Chiranjeevi has every reason to become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and most importantly he's not facing any charges. If buzz is to be believed, Congress high command was thinking for declaring Chiranjeevi as the chief minister candidate for 2014. And almost 90 per cent of Congress leaders in the state support Chiranjeevi's leadership, said sources and even PCC chief Botsa Satynarayana recently told that he would be happy in case Chiru becomes the CM. If really such as a situation arises, how would Kiran react is a million dollar question.
