Children Magazine's guide to DIY petrol bomb

Surprising as it might sound, a Tunisian popular children's magazine had been under the lens of the law after it had published an article on how to make a petrol bomb, akin to Molotov cocktails.

The article made its presence on the latest edition of "Qaws Quzah", Arabic for "Rainbow". The article concentrated on the history of petrol bombs under the Knowledge Corner section apart from providing detailed illustrations with instructions on the preparation.

An excerpt from the article said, "It is an improvised weapon that is often used in riots and acts of sabotage because it is easy to make and use”.

This magazine was popular since several decades among the children up to 15. It does not publish anything related to the politics of the nation. The recent publication however has drawn criticism and contempt after a sensitive issue was published. The last years unrest from the revolution had not yet settled and an article that can have malevolent influence on the readers, especially young minds could encourage vandalism or even worse.

The ministry of Woman and family affairs said that such articles could endanger the lives of children by "encouraging the use of Molotov cocktails in acts of vandalism or terrorism". It is also set to file a complaint against the publishers and those responsible for the article in the magazine while pressing the charges of incitement to violence.
