2020 Is A Miss For Tollywood:- 2020 started off with a bang for Telugu cinema. Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo raked massive money in their final run which gave a huge boost for Tollywood. HIT and Bheeshma ended up as decent hits from February. Then came coronavirus pandemic and Tollywood is left shut because of the virus. With the growing number of cases, the theatres continued to remain shut as the spread would be more if the theatres are reopened. Though some of the analysts predicted that the theatres would be open for Dasara, it is not possible as per the situations. Tollywood will have to miss 2020 and there would be no releases as the theatres would be shut for the complete year. If the cases come down, there are chances that the shoots of Telugu films resuming post Dasara. If this happens, the theatres may reopen from Sankranthi 2021. Most of the producers are in huge financial stress and thousands of film workers and staff in theatres are left jobless. They are struggling for their daily needs because of coronavirus. Tollywood will not forget 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said this today against the backdrop of WHO's praise. World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also praised the recovery of Dharavi slums saying that it is an example for the world. With the cases increasing in Mumbai, Dharavi's cases came to all time low. Uddhav Thackeray said that Dharavi showed the world that self-discipline can control coronavirus. Uddhav Thackeray said that 82% of the patients recovered from the coronavirus and the active cases in the slum now reached 166. He said that Dharavi is an inspiration to curb coronavirus.
