Headaches before and after the Menstrual cycle:- A lot of hormonal changes happen for women during her menstrual cycle. For some of them, it happens before the period and for others, it happens during the period. For some of them, it also happens after the menstrual cycle. Headache is the quite common symptom that takes place during this cycle. Menstrual migraine is the most common symptom of PMS. Headaches occur when the woman's body undergoes changes in the levels of estrogen and progesterone. The neurotransmitters in the brain get impacted when there is fluctuation in the levels of progesterone and estrogen. This leads to headaches among the women. There are two headaches during this phase: menstrual migrane and hormonal headache.

The intensity of hormonal headache is moderate to mild. It brings an uncomfortable feeling. The menstrual migraine is unbearable and 60 percent of the women are impacted due to this during their menstrual cycle. All those who are suffering with migraine are more susceptible for menstrual migraine. Women experience zigzag lines, flashing lights and other experiences. This also hampers the daily activities of the women. It is also accompanied by vomiting, sensitivity to bright light, nausea and others. It is always advisable to visit a doctor depending on the severity of the menstrual migraine and hormonal headache. Pain relievers can be used and some of the prominent medications are naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, acetaminophen and aspirin. Drinking coffee are best to treat hormonal headaches. Practise yoga, meditation and deep breathing for a better relief.
