By Women, For Women cabs

A week after the Delhi rape incident, cabs driven by women are gaining demand across the country. Bangalore based, Ola cabs is soon going to launch 'By Women, For Women' cabs in major cities of the country. However, the company has refused to comment on their plans. But a spokesperson said, they are installing GPS system in every car that the company hires and also getting the details of the drivers with the help of AADHAR card with police approvals.

Cab services by woman drivers G cabs, Priyadarshini taxis and Viira cabs were operational for the past few years but they ran short of funds to increase their size. The fresh rape incident by a cab driver, lead to the ban of cab services and in few cities like Delhi, Karnataka and Hyderabad, Uber cab services are suspended due to lack of approvals from police department and transport authorities.

Ola currently has 50 to 100 woman cab drivers and it is in talks with non-profit organistation to increase their strength. This is also a good sign, employment could increase among the woman too.
