Study says higher body weight linked to a severe risk for Coronavirus:- Overweight happens to be one of the biggest problems among the human beings. It increases the risk of several diseases and it initiates health complications in the body. A study says that being overweight comes with an increased risk of many worse outcomes of coronavirus. The study which was finalized through a research was published in The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology journal. The study was conducted by the researchers from the Oxford University in the United Kingdom. It says that the risk of worse outcomes from coronavirus is higher among the people with overweight across the full range of body mass index (BMI).

BMI of the body fat is calculated by dividing the weight of the person in kgs by the square of height in metres. The study concluded after taking the reports from 6.9 million people living in the United Kingdom and it also included the data of 20,000 coronavirus patients who got hospitalized or passed away during the first wave of coronavirus in the United Kingdom. The risk is higher in people with BMI above 23 kgs per square metre. The risk of hospitalization is higher in all the people above 23 kg/m2. The people with underweight too experienced similar outcomes from coronavirus as per the study. The risk of coronavirus in overweighted people is high among the people who are aged between 20 and 39 years.
