Higher Salt Consumption Can Lead to Gastrointestinal Bloating

As per the study, higher salt consumption can lead to gastrointestinal bloating. The data has been re-analyzed by the scientists from a large clinical trial–the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension-Sodium trial (DASH-Sodium). The trial participants are reported to get gastrointestinal bloating. The study was published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology. Bloating happens to be one of the leading gastrointestinal complaints in the US.

Bloating features get excess gas in the gut which is dangerous. Less usage of salt and sodium can control gastrointestinal bloating. The best way to prevent gastrointestinal bloating is just to reduce the usage of salt and leave people to maintain a healthy diet. Each of the two diets was tested at three levels of sodium, and the 412 participants all had high blood pressure at the trial start. 36.7% of the participants reported bloating which is huge.
