Hyderabadi Man Drowns After Falling Into Canada’s Elbow Falls:- A 33-year-old Hyderabadi man, Abdul Quadir Mohammed, drowned after falling into Elbow Falls near Bragg Creek in Calgary, in Canada. His body was recovered by the local police after a massive operation on Sunday (July 30).

A resident of Amberpet, Abdul was working as an IT analyst with WestJet company in Canada. Last Friday, Abdul, who was living with his wife and two-month-old baby boy, received his Canadian citizenship and invited his parents in India to visit him.

The entire family on Saturday went to visit Elbow Falls in Calgary, which is almost 60 km from their place. One of his family members at the waterfall, slipped while taking a photograph. In an attempt to save the family member, Abdul  accidentally fell into the waterfall. In a bid to save Abdul, another Canadian who went into the waterfall was rescued but with severe injuries.

The rescue teams allegedly arrived late to the spot and Abdul was declared dead. On Sunday, an operation was launched to recover his body with a helicopter’s assistance and the body was retrieved and handed over to his family members.

Speaking to the police, Raqeeb Mohammed, a close friend and former roommate of Qadir said that “A happy and jovial Qadir came as a migrant from India and had been living in Calgary for six or seven years.” “His parents came from Hyderabad to see their new born grandson, “he said.

To provide financial assistance to Abdul’s family to bring the body back home, a crowd funding campaign was started on gofundme.com
