Rama Banam Story
After delivering two blockbusters Loukyam(2007) and Lakshyam(2014), director Sriwass and Gopichand teamed up for their third film Rama Banam. The film was released in theatres today after rigorous promotions. Let us take a look at the movie review.
Story:
Vicky (Gopichand) after a conflict with his brother Rajaram (Jagapathi Babu) leaves his village in childhood and reaches Kolkata. Vicky turns out to be a don in Kolkata and falls in love with Bhairavi (Dimple Hayathi), Where Bhairavi's father (Sachin Kedkar) expects a good family for his future son-in-law. Vicky returns to Raghudevapuram and finds out that his brother is having a treat from GK (Tarun Arora). Rajaram will be surviving by running an organic hotel. How Vicky saves his family is the story of the film.
Rama Banam Analysis
A young boy who leaves his family and turned out to be a don, returns back to his family for his love interest and in that process, he clears his family problem. This story might have worked in theatres before two decades. There is nothing new in the story and with a good cast director somehow created interest to watch the movie till the end. Rama Banam is a typical family film and every scene is predictable from the very beginning.
The first half is pretty good when compared to the second half. The first half got some decent comedy in between Vennela Kishore, Ali, Getup Srinu and Satya. The movie got a few boring emotional scenes, and interval sequences and is power-packed, which doesn't create any sort of interest. This is one more outdated movie by Sakshyam movie director Sriwass. GK's role might have been written more powerfully with some more scenes rather than dedicating only to the Rajaram rivalry slot.
Performance
Gopichand is good in his role. Jagapathi Babu and Kushboo also are equally good. All the actors had done their part sincerely. Jagapathi Babu got much-wanted screen space. Dimple Hayati had very few scenes and the actress was glamorous in songs. The first two songs are watchable and decent. Story writer Bhupathi Raja might have worked more on this story rather than ending it like an old-age drama.
Positives:
Cast
First Half Comedy
Negatives:
Outdated story.
Add-on characters
Establishing Antagonist
Rama Banam Final Word
Rama Banam is an outdated story with a good cast. With a lack of intensity, Rama Banam failed to impress the audience.
