Drishyam to be remade in Hollywood:- "Drishyam," a successful Indian thriller about a regular man outsmarting the police to protect his family, will be remade in English. The production will be a collaboration between India's Panorama Studios and American companies Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films. Originally released in 2013 in Malayalam, the film was later remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles in 2015. The Hindi version was followed by a sequel in 2022, titled "Drishyam 2," which earned around $43 million globally.

Panorama, the production company that made the Hindi version for Viacom18 Motion Pictures, has acquired the international rights to remake both "Drishyam 1 & 2" from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. They are currently in the process of developing multiple international versions. A Korean remake with Anthology Studios was announced in May of last year, and Panorama is also close to finalizing a deal for a Spanish version. In 2019, a Chinese adaptation called "Sheep Without a Shepherd," not involving Panorama, became a massive success with a box office gross of $200 million.

Kumar Mangat Pathak, the chairman and managing director of Panorama, expressed his excitement about sharing the universal appeal of "Drishyam's" clever storyline with audiences worldwide. In the upcoming years, Gulfstream, co-founded by Mike Karz and Bill Bindley, plans to release a new movie. Previously, they have produced films such as "Blended" and "Upgraded." Gulfstream's Karz and Bindley expressed their excitement to bring this timeless thriller to audiences in the United States. Meanwhile, JOAT, founded by former Warner Bros. production executive in Asia, Jack Nguyen, specializes in creating local language remakes that span different territories. Nguyen believes that "Drishyam" has a captivating and enduring story, filled with drama and emotional ups and downs. Their adaptation of the film is expected to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with its gripping cat and mouse tale.
