Sai Kumar’s Kannada Super hit ‘Rangi Taranga’, is in the Oscar race and the actor, along with the makers of the film, had expressed their happiness on it.

In the beginning, the Government of India, did not pick Rangi Taranga, but sent a movie called ‘Court’ as an official entry from India, for the ‘Best Foreign Film’ category in Academy Awards (Oscars).

But as there is another option to pick the movies for Academy awards, which is similar to wild card entry, we hear on the TV shows. The same thing took place in ‘Rangi Taranga’ movie and is thus picked from India.

There are about 300 movies picked by the academy authorities, for the final scrutiny and Rangi Taranga is one of them.

Rangi Taranga movie was made with the complete new faces, including the director Anup Bhandari. To boost up the movie, the senior actress Sai Kumar was also a part of it, and he played the villain role, or to say a negative shaded character in the movie.

Sai Kumar, who is overwhelmed after knowing the news, spoke to the media, saying, “We've never thought that the film will make it to Oscars. If the film ends up on the final list, then it's going to be a wonderful film. If at all the film wins Academy Award, then I'll dedicate it to my granddaughter.”

Till date, only three movies - Mother India, Salaam Bombay, Lagaan, have got nominated from India. All the three movies are from Bollywood.

If Rangi Taranga gets nominated, it would be the first south Indian film, to get nominated in the prestigious Oscars and would be a proud thing to discuss for every South Indian movie lover, along with the rest of the Indians.
