Chiranjeevi leads Indian delegation at Cannes

Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi led the Indian delegation consisting of two ministries- Information and Broadcasting and Tourism at the 66th Cannes Film Festival started yesterday.  The purpose of the delegation from a guest Country is to show case Indian Movies on the occasion of Indian Cinema celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Chiranjeevi who called it a 'Film Tourism' wants to promote India at Cannes as 'Filming Destination' at Cannes among international film producers.  For achieving the above goal, the two ministries have joined hands to promote ‘Cinema of India’ at the international film festivals at Goa and Cannes.

Indian pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival hosted a presentation of ‘Incredible India’ in which the business opportunities in India were highlighted.

Megastar’s experience in the film industry proved to be an asset for the development of Tourism Industry.  So far our film makers are going abroad to shoot films and those films are rated high for the buyers to exhibit in the theaters and also for getting good rate in selling their satellite rights.  But inviting foreign film makers to India to shoot their movies here is an excellent idea to promote tourism too in addition to contributing to the Indian revenue.  Clubbing of the two ministries for the purpose of it is an intelligent idea whose brain child it may be!

Let us hope that the Indian films showcased at Cannes will attract some international movie makers to fall in line with the ideas Chiranjeevi and other delegates from the two ministries concept marketed there.
