Om Shanti Om director, hero in court case

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar has filed criminal cases against noted actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan for allegedly defaming him in their movie Om Shanti Om, which was released in 2007. The actor, in fact, filed the defamation case in 2008 itself but then he withdrew after the duo apologized to him and ensured that the scene would be deleted before it was telecast or released anywhere else.

Recently, Om Shanti Om was released in Japan and the scene that was found to be objectionable by Manoj Kumar (as Shahrukh Khan mimicked Manoj Kumar for a couple of seconds in that movie) was not deleted from the movie. The irked Manoj Kumar once again approached the court.

The court in Mumbai, which took the complaint of Manoj Kumar has directed Manoj Kumar to produce the CD that contain the objectionable scene. Meanwhile, Manoj Kumar has also sought a police investigation on SRK and Farah Khan as they apparently contain digital film prints with them. Shahrukh Khan, who's been busy enjoying IPL 6, was not available for the comment.
