Women world cup cricket to commence today

The ICC Women World Cup hosted in India is to commence from Thursday (January 31) In Mumbai and Cuttack. While the Group A matches between India, Sri Lanka, West Indies and England would be played in Mumbai, the other matches would be played in Odisha.

Group B with Pakistan has Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, who would play in Cuttack owing to security reasons. IN Mumbai there are two stadiums that are to host the matches. They are the Brabourne Stadium, MIG Club at Bandra and the Bandra-Kurla Complex ground of the Mumbai Cricket Association.

The day night matches will be a delight to watch with lesser hype in comparison to the male matches. That gives a conducive environment for the players to have a peaceful sport.

The Group B teams will be in action on the second day of the tournament on February 1 when Australia play Pakistan at Barabati Stadium, while New Zealand will take on South Africa at DRIEMS Cricket Ground in Cuttack.

As of today India meets West Indies in the first ever encounter of ICC 2013 World Cup. Group A has the last top 3 teams of 2009 world cup. India finished third while Sri Lanka was the runner up and England won the cup.
