Paes-Vesnina wait for another grand slam title

Fourth seeded Leander Paes and his Russian partner Elena Vesnina are forced to wait for another grand slam event. The reason is that they could only grab the runners-up honours this year at the Wimbledon mixed doubles event, on Sunday. The second seeded all American pair Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond  pulled up a magnificient win against the Indo-Russian pair with a 3-6 7-5 4-6 in the match that lasted for two hours and four minutes. The situation was similar as in the Australian Opens this year when the Indo-Russian pair lost to Bethanie Mattek-Sands Horia Tecau.

As far as the Wimbledon Men' singles is concerned, Roger Federer beats Andy Murray on Sunday to grab his seventh Wimbledon title. Federer wins with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4, for his 17th Grand Slam title overall. ''It has worked out so many times over the years here at Wimbledon that I play my best in the semis and the finals,'' Federer said. ''I couldn't be more happy. It feels great being back here as the winner.''

On the other hand Serena Williams hogs the limelight at the Women's singles in Wimbledon. The Williams sibling who was bogged down for sometime due to medical fitness stormed her way to grab her fifth Wimbledon title. Serena defeats Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 5-7, 6-2. “I wanted to win here so badly,” she said, just an hour after she became Wimbledon champion 2012. “Winning is so amazing. Each title is special but this is super-special because it’s a huge comeback for me. Oh my gosh, I still can’t believe I was able to come through and win my seven matches.” Proving her detractors wrong, the Champ triumped, showing that there is still lots to haul with her tennis racket.
