Pujara follows Sachin & Gambhir, to be signed by WSG

Right handed batsman Pujara is the latest selection of WSG for PMP, they have planned to take him up for promoting sports in the region.

Like his seniors and stalwarts, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir, the Rajasthan player has been signed by the World Sports Group (WSG) to promote the game in this region. WSG has officially agreed that Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara is under its Player Management Programme.

Mr Harish Krishnamachar, Country Head and Senior Vice President of WSG, told reporters, 'In keeping with WSG's steadfast commitment towards building and promoting sports in Asia, we believe in working with a selected group of players. The basis of our choice of who we can work with and help from a commercial point of view is that each of the players is focused on his on-ground performance. We look forward in doing some excellent work with Pujara over the years.' The right-handed batsman from Rajkot after hitting triple century twice in first-class cricket while playing for Saurashtra made his International Test debut against Australia in home test series on October 9 2010 at Bangalore and currently plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL.

'I am fortunate to be associated with an organization that is proficiently managing the commercial interests of iconic cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir. I am glad to be in the able hands of WSG and can now focus completely on performing better and cementing my place in the national squad', said Pujara. (With inputs from the internet – AarKay)
