Autocorrect not always correct...

We dote on our smartphones and berrys. We love our gadgets and apps. And we love this technology that makes our life so much easier. If that's the case with you, then you'd better learn to love the awkward moments your phones throw at you too.

If you're the kind who multitasks, then you'd know for sure that autocorrect can be the biggest faux pas you can make! AutoCorrect is a software function commonly found in word processors. Its principal purpose is to correct common spelling or typing errors, saving time for the user. It's not rocket science. Every one who has a phone knows what autocorrect is and has probably fallen prey to some of its crazy mood swings. The red-faced moment comes in when the person in question is your boss/mother/father or any other person you'd go beetroot red with.

Anjanaa Damodharan, a junior copywriter recalls how hilarious it was when she was waiting for one of her friends at a coffee shop. "I asked her where she was and she texted me saying 'I'm bombing my hair!'." Anjanaa says that the very thought of her friend doing what she texted had her rolling on the floor laughing. The biggest comedy however is, when you text off something dirty and completely explicit and you can't even explain yourself. Face it, the damage is done. And there is just about nothing you can do about it.

"I think the most embarrassing are the texts we send to our parents!" says Riddhi Sayali. Riddhi had one of those moments when she sent a text to her mom saying, 'One sex', instead of 'one sec'. "I felt like burying myself and disappearing forever! It may sound very trivial, but my mum's very conservative and I think that just left her flabbergasted!" says Riddhi.

Varun Balakrishnan too had one such unforgettable incidents when he was having a serious argument with one of his seniors through SMSes. "I knew I was winning the argument and kicking his rear end royally. But just when I thought I'd deliver my punch dialogue I ended up writing. 'What the duck?' The silence after that deafens me even now," says Varun dramatically. On the brighter side, the argument ended in laughter and the duo are good friends now. Autocorrect sure has a lot of people fumbling with their phones, struggling to rectify mistakes but it's one of those things that technology does. Makes your life easier, but can embarrass the hell out of you! After all, they have their days too!
