World Body Suspends Wrestling Federation Of India:- A massive setback to Indian wrestlers, now no Indian is allowed to participate in any world wrestling championships with the Indian flag.

The governing body of world wrestling, United World Wrestling (UWW) has suspended the wrestling federation of India. Now Indian wrestlers will not be allowed to participate in any upcoming world championships under the Indian flag. The decision was taken as the WFI is delaying in conducting elections.

Indian wrestlers need to participate in the neutral athletes at the Olympic qualifying matches from September 16th. Bhupender Singh Bajwa was appointed and he failed to complete the elections before the 45-day deadline.

On April 27th the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) appointed an ad hoc committee, which was supposed to conduct the fair elections within 45 days of time. The World Wrestling Association warned the Indian Wrestling Association on April 28th that they would suspend the Indian federation, if they did not organise the elections as per schedule.

WFI was supposed to organize elections on May 7th, but the Indian sports ministry has declared it null and void, so the election process went on hold. This is not the first time elections have been delayed.

The WFI was boiled with the Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh sexual harassment issue and was angry with the Indian wrestling association for not taking any action. The decision is a massive setback to the country. Now no wrestler can participate under the Indian flag in any international matches.
