Sania Mirza Announces Retirement:- Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza announced that she would retire from the sport this year after the Australian Open. The 35-year-old tennis player gave birth to a boy in March 2019 and returned back to the sport after she turned fit. After losing the women's doubles in the Australian Open, Sania Mirza made an announcement about her retirement. She has been playing with Nadiia Kichenok in the women's doubles in the Australian Open. During the post-match conference, Sania Mirza told that there are a bunch of reasons for her retirement. She said that her recovery is taking longer and Sania Mirza is also considering spending time with her family and three-year-old son.

"It is putting my son at risk as I have to travel so much for the sport. My recovery too is taking longer than expected and I am considering my three-year-old son. My body is wearing down and my knee is hurting. I am getting older and I think it's time to retire. The energy and motivation are not the same anymore. I am always here to play until I enjoy the sport. It is not about winning but it is about enjoying the process. I am not enjoying it anymore now. I have worked hard to come back fit. I took a lot of time to lose weight. I have now decided to set a good example for mothers. Beyond this season, my body will not be doing it. It is the best" told Sania Mirza who is the 68 ranked player in the world in the sport.
